She has traveled all across the Midwest and New England to share her love of forecasting with kids in school. She was invited back to the National Weather Service in 2018 to experiment with the GOES-R satellite technology for severe weather warnings. This program supported the National Weather Service with rolling out a new probability-based tornado and severe thunderstorm warning system. In 2017 she was selected as the first female and first New England representative for research in the Hazardous Weather Testbed, FACETs (Forecasting a Continuum of Environmental Threats). Her expertise in severe thunderstorms and tornadoes, eventually led her to Norman, Oklahoma. Later she earned her Seal of Approval from the National Weather Association in 2016 and continues education to keep that seal.
